Neil W. Gibson, Ph.D. has served in mutlipe operational roles in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Dr Gibson was Senior Vice President of COI Pharma (2016 – 2021). Dr. Gibson responsibilities focused on the creation of new biotechnology companies that advance innovative therapeutics into area’s of high unmet medical need. Within this role he has served as CEO for PDI Therapeutics and Adanate and CSO for Silarus Therapeutics. Dr. Gibson’s responsibilities include the coordination of all IND enabling studies and the design of the early clinical development studies for each companies lead development candidate. Dr. Gibson has more than 30 years of drug development experience and has been involved in the successful discovery, development and commercialization of four approved oncology drugs (including temozolomide, sorafenib, erlotnib, and crizotinib). Dr. Gibson currently serves on the board of two public companies – Instil Bio and Shattuck Laboratories and two private companies – Causeway Therapeutics and Adanate. Prior to joining COI Dr. Gibson was the Chief Scientific Officer of Regulus Therapeutics and prior to Regulus he was the Chief Scientific Officer of the Pfizer Oncology Research Unit. Dr. Gibson also held leadership roles on Pfizer’s Oncology Business Unit Executive team and the global leadership team of Pfizer’s Pharmatherapeutics Organization. Dr. Gibson has also served as the CSO of OSI Pharmaceuticals and as Director of Bayer Oncology.
